Chrysler Launches Specialized Programs

Chrysler recently announced that they have launched two specialized programs which would help their employees gain more skills which would be of great help to the company. This is not new for the company as it has been offering technical programs for its employees for decades.

Two of those programs launched in the past are about to get better according to the automaker. These are the Technical Specialist and master Black Belt programs. The two programs will be the basis of the new Technical Fellow and Master Black Belt Specialist programs.

Frank Klegon, Executive Vice President for Product Development at Chrysler LLC said that the two programs will be able to help the company as it address two vital aspects in the company's operation. "Chrysler knows that engineering innovation and disciplined decision- making are vital to the success of the company," said Klegon. "Technical Specialists and Master Black Belts are highly valued in this regard and are key to successfully carrying out our future product plan," added Klegon.

According to The Auto Channel, the Technical Specialist has been launched in Chrysler in 1988. Through the years, the program helped countless employees improve their engineering skills. The said program helps Chrysler engineers design new vehicle models for the automaker.

The training provided by the program also allows engineers working for Chrysler come up with vehicle designs which keep them up to date. Due to the specialized program, Chrysler engineers were able to set the bar higher for their competition time and time again.

The automaker's Technical Specialist program is designed to acknowledge an engineer as a Technical Specialist based on different criteria like education, experience, accomplishments, and of course, job and peer review. The new program though will be tougher than the one in place. To be recognized as a Technical Fellow, an engineer should pass tougher criteria than the ones set for the Technical Specialist program. While it is tougher to become a Technical Fellow, attaining it will give employees better career opportunities.
